Now that you’re here I take it you want to know a little more about the girl behind the screen.
Who I am, where I come from, and why you should trust me to build a website that screams your business’s best self.
Well, for starters, I don’t think leading with accomplishments and achievements is the best way to connect with my clients. Most people I’ve met and love working with, do so because they love my energy, my artistry, me.
It’s really what sets apart working with a huge agency vs. working hand in hand with a small business owner. I’m here every step of the way, I care about you and the work I am putting out, and most importantly, I get it. I own a business too, I’m not just showing up to work to collect a paycheck.
I grew up with a love for art and creating as far back as I can remember. As a kid I loved crafts, drawing, writing, guitar, singing, songwriting, acting, sewing, video editing, so on and so forth.
Despite all of the passion and interest I had in my hobbies, I never honed in on any one skill. It was more a plethora of creative activities.
By the time I went off to college I had no clue what I wanted to do and got my Associate’s degree in business (seemed like an education I could use anywhere). Then, I went on and got my bachelor’s in Marketing (the most creative facet of business).
During my time in college I began painting for the first time and fell in love with it. I even showcased and sold some of my art for about a year. It was such a wonderful time in my life, surrounding myself with like-minded creatives, just out on my own seeing who had interest. I would share what I did on Instagram and to my surprise I had more than I could manage in commissions.
I remember that being the first time I felt confident in myself as an artist. I saw I had a talent other people recognized and were willing to pay for. I’ve always thought maybe I could just be a painter, and it still is a side passion of mine, but doing it full time just wasn’t sustainable.
Also during this time I got into digital marketing. For four years I helped small businesses with social media, websites, blogs, photo, video, editing, literally every little thing they could give me I took on. It didn’t matter if I had never done it before, I was always determined to figure it out and do it well.
At that time in my life I grew a TON. I learned a lot about what I could handle, what I was good at, and most importantly, my tenacity. It grew my confidence ten-fold in terms of what I felt capable of. It didn’t matter what was thrown at me; I learned how to do it, and I watched my work get better and better because I strive for constant improvement.
But I didn’t stop there. I found myself in the throes of 2020 like most of us, soul searching and questioning what I was doing in life. I knew I didn’t feel fulfilled. I wanted to do something that allotted me more creativity, that helped others, and allowed me to be my own boss. I wanted to pivot.
So the following year I moved from my hometown after 26 years and down to sunny San Diego. I quit my digital marketing jobs, got back into bartending (restaurant jobs had gotten me through college) and had two of the most fun years of my life. Then I got serious again about what I wanted to do, and found computer programming (the problem solving really scratched the itch of my analytical side). I did a bootcamp where I learned Web Development and attended meetups where I met a lot of great people in tech who reignited the entrepreneur fire within me.
Art composition, computer programming, digital marketing, small business experience? Well, you get it. I decided I’d start my own business in web design.
So here I am. Doing something that excites me, that I can talk about for hours and hours, that I spend active time constantly learning about and figuring out how I can be better, both for myself and for my clients.
So far in my journey, the one consistent truth I have found while working with small business owners across so many different industries, is passion. I’ve seen countless people light up when they talk about what they do and why it's so important. Being on the other side of that? Having the ability to uplift another person’s talents and showcase that to the world?
What does all of the above even mean? What does that translate to in terms of you being here, right now, considering working with me?
It means if you do choose to work with me, I will take the time to first get to know you and your business, then I will use my artsy-meets-analytical brain to translate that into a smoothly functioning custom online storefront that perfectly reflects what your business is and what you want people to see it as.
That is the space that will bring you clients from all over. That is the 24/7 top employee I’ve been talking about. Your custom website. It will convert casual browsers into people who connect and believe in you and what you do.
The right site will be more than just a cookie cutter template you’ve seen time and time again. It’ll feel aligned, strategic, and communicate your value and story. It’ll be something you’re proud to send, in fact, so much so you’ll annoy people because you WANT them to just please look at your awesome site!
So if you’re looking for someone who can create that for you? Who has a love and understanding of how to combine art and design with streamlined functionality that focuses on user experience and converts?
